Iowa college students heading into their junior year this fall are encouraged to file their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Tuesday, March 1, in order to be considered for a Carver Trust Scholarship.
The scholarship is valued at about $5,200 for students attending an Iowa public university. April 1 is the deadline to apply for fall 2011.
Eligible students include:
- Students beginning their junior year who have earned 60 semester hours, present a minimum 2.80 cumulative transfer GPA, and have overcome unusual barriers to achieve their educational goals.
- Students must be Iowa residents and have graduated from an Iowa high school or have lived in Iowa for five consecutive years.
