The University of Iowa will offer a Bachelor of Arts in Social Justice beginning this summer. The major is housed within the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies and will explore social movements, societal intersections that cause oppression, and how climates for change are created.
Students in the major will have opportunities for real-world field experiences and receive preparation for employment or graduate study through high-quality internships and educational experiences. Earning a degree in Social Justice will prepare students for careers or further study in anthropology, political science, law, criminology, health, social services, business, non-profit management, or public history projects.
