Prospective Iowa transfer students interested in theatre arts, recreation and sport business, and ethics and public policy may now be able to transfer to the University of Iowa through the 2 Plus 2 Guaranteed Graduation Program.
The 2 Plus 2 Program connects Iowa community college students with University of Iowa advisers early on so they take the right courses at the right time to complete their AA degree and a bachelor’s degree from Iowa in a total of four years. In all, there are 23 Iowa degree programs accessible to students in the 2 Plus 2 program. Recent additions include:
The Recreation & Sport Business track in the Leisure Studies BS degree program—now an option for 2 Plus 2 students at all Iowa community colleges.
The Ethics & Public Policy BA degree program—now an option for 2 Plus 2 students at all Iowa community colleges except Iowa Central Community College.
The Theatre Arts BA degree program—now an option for 2 Plus 2 students at Kirkwood Community College.
Because of the 2 Plus 2 guarantee, participants must sign up for the program before beginning their second year at the community college (or while still in high school), and are required to meet ongoing requirements and checkpoints to remain in the plan after transferring to Iowa.
Additional benefits include access to resources at the university’s Pomerantz Career Center and University Libraries, plus discounted rates at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center and discounted admission to select Iowa athletic and cultural events.
Interested students should contact an Iowa transfer admission counselor at 319-335-3847 (email: admissions-2plus2@uiowa.edu) or talk to their community college advisor or high school guidance counselor.
